Character Profile for Alden

The character profile for Alden is now available to read. He’s basically the protagonist of Wandering Fortunes, being the focus character in pretty much twice as many chapters as the other main characters. He’s also a bookworm. Yaaay. This means is is guaranteed relatable because you are also reading at the same time. This is how relatability works right. Relatable and other related words are actual words right.

In other CCC news, I’ve spent the last week working hard on Darmenzi and I’m only 60% through editing from the editor’s notes. Still I should finish in a few days and then spend a week reading through it for a final scan and if things go according to plan this book will be released in April or May so the Nottle Crystal series is almost complete in final book form yaaay! FINALLY, THE THINGS THAT HAPPENED IN THE CHAPTERS I POSTED OVER THE LAST COUPLE YEARS WILL HAPPEN FOR REAL. For a certain definition of “real”.

Also, don’t forget my Patreon, where $3+ patrons this very day get to read chapter 3 of Wandering Fortunes. Everyone else has to wait a couple more weeks.

Finally, I have CCCalling cards now. This is not really something of interest for the internet but LOOK AT THEM

Chapter 2 of Wandering Fortunes is now up

Chapter 2: No Stranger Stranger is available to read now. In it we get to meet the next main character of Wandering Fortunes, Alden, and then, later, Top sings. Between that I would say it’s a good chapter.

Don’t forget, those who give to the CCC Patreon have the chance to read these chapters half a month early. Chapter 3 in just a couple weeks. And a reminder, all money from the CCC this month goes to charity to help keep the country from drowning, and that includes from Patreon.

And no, still no cover. It’s being worked on.

CCC donates to charities in February

So most of the time when I get into

Bah, this isn’t even politics, this is just basic decency. Well, if you’ve read the news, the US is imploding, and people are giving money to organizations to try and keep things existent for the next while. I keep my monetary levels at sea level generally, but I figured I could donate other peoples’ money. Thus to the end of February (and maybe later depending on how things go) all sales of my book will go to charities doing good things to save the nation and the world from being eaten by a bog monster.

Right now I’m thinking the American Civil Liberties Union, Planned Parenthood Action Fund, Natural Resources Defense Council, and Fight for the Future (the internet is serious business, after all). I’m open to other ideas, though.

What this includes is, well, anything related to the CCC. Buy a copy of Slubes, whether paperback or ebook, wherever copies are sold, and whatever I get from that goes to a charity. Become a patron of mine on Patreon in February? To charity. Buy that shirt that I never mention? It’s sad and heartwarming, the latter mostly because you’re wearing magma, and weirdorable and yes if you buy it money goes to a charity, and then you get a shirt and can wear the shirt at a protest and I can’t actually think of anything clever as to how that would tie into all this. I mean, it’s a figgin magma monster. I’d say like, you could say it’s Trump, but then you make Trump look sympathetic. Also a magma monster. Cagnorm is way more likable anyway.

That’s all I got, I suppose. You can of course always donate directly to good causes, but, like, then you won’t get to read a neat and funny book. Actually, I suppose I could give an ebook copy to anyone who can show they’ve donated, but I’m not sure what would qualify as proof in that regard.

Anyway, if you’ve read this far, a reminder that tomorrow the second chapter of Wandering Fortunes goes up. Then those who do become patrons in February will get to then read the third chapter in just a couple weeks. Exciting!

Top Character Profile and Patreon Video

The character profile for Top is now available to read. A bit of this information is that which is pertinent later, but most of it is general or made clear in the first chapter. Top has kind of a weird relationship to me–Numer and the other slubes were created before Top, but I wrote stories with Top a lot more in the latter half of the previous decade, so I have some attachment to the little oddball.

There is also a new Patreon intro video for my Patreon page! Take a look, IT HAS ME HUMMING A LOT:

As it turns out, starting today $3+ patrons can read chapter 2 of Wandering Fortunes before anyone else.

One more thing to make note: I’ve gotten Darmenzi back from the editor! It’s time to pull that open and get to work on finishing this second book. I’ll keep you posted on the updates.

Wandering Fortunes is here! Chapter 1: Guardian of Goofiness

Wandering Fortunes Intro
Chapter 1: Guardian of Goofiness

The first chapter of the Wandering Fortunes is finally here, in the year of 2017! After a brief introduction by Duth and Wally, we get in the head of someone in the process of being created. This someone is Top. Top is crazy. Top for best character 2017. Unfortunately, those what created Top don’t think so.

I first started writing Slubes at the beginning of 2010. Seven years later the first new setting and group of characters of the Cloudy Cuckoo Cosmos since the beginning starts. I hope you enjoy Wandering Fortunes enough to make the next 3 1/2 years feel like just 2. (Which could totally be done if I reached the Patreon goal where I began to post 2 chapters a month.)

The cover for Wandering Fortunes is, well, not done yet. But it’s close! The artist is working on it, and it should be completed before the second chapter in February.

As for 2016, it was a weird year. A lot of people thought it was terrible. I’m not sure it was any worse than previous years aside from the election, which was kind of worse than past elections. But I actually had a surprisingly good year, with Slubes finally refinished and lots of work on Darmenzi done, along with the prog version being fully posted online. I also started a weird Pokemon comic because I have no time for real work.

Now we have 2017. I hope to finish Darmenzi and release the final version, and I hope to get more work done on Wandering Fortunes. I’m sure you’ll all love it. Have fun with Top’s oddball antics!

The conclusion of Darmenzi! Chapter 20: Fallen Oblivion

It’s finally here. We’re finally here. The final chapter of Darmenzi, Chapter 20: Fallen Oblivion is here! It all concludes with a bang, a smash, and a reveal. Will everyone survive? Will everyone live? Will I let this stand??

The conclusion ends with a brief discussion on the next book, Wandering Fortunes. More on that when I have time. For now, enjoy the conclusion to this story running for 1 2/3 years, the second (and first real) story I wrote for NaNoWriMo, which… begins today. Coincidence? Yes. I’m too busy to do anything for it, though.

Darmenzi Chapter 19: Dragged into Darkness

Here we go, Chapter 19 of Darmenzi, Dragged into Darkness, is up. It’s the first half of the climax. Destination: moon. Destination: destruction. It is the chapter where everything is ruined! Can our heroes stop a disastrous plan? Will they even be given a chance? Can Chee keep her temper checked? Will the orbs have the power to stop Darmenzi? Read on for the first half of the answers!

Also, Duth and Wally have a pleasant chat with the villain. Well, not really.

Want to see the ending before anyone else? It’s totally possible with my Patreon. I post chapters half a month early for patrons, and I include weekly updates on how slow work is now that I’m working the dayjob again. But work is being done. Just not during the day.

Darmenzi Chapter 18: A New Truce

Darmenzi Chapter 18: A New Truce

Could it be? Every protagonist and antagonist’s greatest dread?? The lesser of two evils has the means to reach the greater evil, and the side of good has the means to defeat this greater evil. But can it really work out? Can the two sides trust each other? Can Conrad keep from killing the slubes? Can Conrad keep from killing his own staff??

That’s right, more important than all that is that we get to see Conrad at the office. That is to say, more interactions between his weird agents. They’re dysfunctional coworkers. Who wouldn’t want to see office politics between a ghost and a robot? We’re on the cusp of the climax now! After this only two more chapters.

Now up, Darmenzi Chapter 17: Final Challenge

The not-quite-tournament is under way with chapter 17 of Darmenzi! Numer faces his fears, Pocerni shows his experience, Cherry gets some punches in, and Sawn gets a bad deal. Will Conrad finally get his day and destroy his nuisances? Who will take the final orb? The answer may surprise you!

We’re in August now, and I’m expecting this month to be called back to the day job. When this happens my social media presence will probably have to die until I can get out again, probably in February. By then Darmenzi will be finished and a new story will begin. I’ll keep everyone posted.

Darmenzi Chapter 16: Ending Maneuvers

Chapter 16: Ending Maneuvers

We’re in the final quarter of Darmenzi now! To start it off, we check in on someone we haven’t seen for a bit, then dive into a fantastic setting that gets broken into by another old “friend”. I’d have to say I particularly like this chapter, as we get to see some things we haven’t had a chance to examine too closely before, and the character interaction is amazing. When I get silly, I hold no punches from oversized novelty punching gloves.

On a side note, Slubes ebook is still free until… Wait, hold on… Smashwords is doing a sale this month. Okay! It’s free until the end of July, whee!

In other news, I’ve gotten work started on editing the third novel, Wandering Fortunes. I’m primarily combing through it right now for what major things I need to edit, but next week I’ll get underway on that. More on that near the end of the year!
