New Location Profile for New Zhopolis

The huge city of New Zhopolis from Wandering Fortunes has an entry now! It’s a long one, detailing the city’s layout quite a bit, and it was even longer at first but I realized it’s not yet time to dive into some of the city’s history. Things will come to light in the future. For now, if a picture’s worth a thousand words, I think I made a pretty good map here.

I kind of haven’t done much of any work this week due to what happened a week ago, but next week I’m going to get back to work. More details at the beginning of November!

New Wandering Fortunes chapter up! Chapter 10: A Place for the Placeless

Here’s chapter ten of Wandering Fortunes! This brings us to the end of the first quarter of this story and about halfway through the first part. This chapter introduces a lot of new friends! With a place to stay found in New Zhopolis, Alden, Top, and Ropak meet their new housemates. Some ignore them, some are enthusiastic, and some are mysterious. Also, one of them says memes. You’ve been warned.

As it turns out, three of the characters introduced in this chapter are inspired by characters of my friends Paperlanty, Devon, and Darvo “Cthulhuigi” Prower. (Sheesh.) Try to guess which ones! Or don’t. I can’t tell you what to do.

Also something new with this chapter is a new design for the chats between Duth and Wally. Instead of having their name followed by a colon and then what they say, their text is on a separate paragraph. Not sure how good it looks online, but it looks a lot better in regular text.

Final work on completing Darmenzi has begun. It’ll still be a little while before I’m done, but I’m hoping to be able to release this book in December. You know, so people can buy it for Clichemas. Obviously. As a reminder, not only do patrons of my Patreon get the serialized chapters half a month early, but when Darmenzi releases you’ll get a copy of the ebook. Not only that, but if you give $3 or more you’ll receive a copy of the ebook a whole month in advance! Then you can see how amazingly it has improved from what I posted online last year.

New species profile added for arkents

Arkents now have a profile on the website! These short, squishy creatures are tentacled and shelled and make quite good seafood. They come from a swampy region of Zhop. Basically, they come from Zhop’s Florida. The first friend our protagonists of Wandering Fortunes meet in New Zhopolis is an arkent, too.

In other news, I finished writing a brand-new chapter for Wandering Fortunes, so I’m going to let that cool off in the back–next week I will finally begin the final edits on the final version of final Darmenzi! It’s going to happen soon! I’m going to have a SECOND book out! Take that– er, wait. No smack-talk. I’ll keep you updated on it! You’ll be even more updated if you become a patron on my Patreon, which is going to get chapter 10 uploaded to here pretty quick!

Chapter 9 of Wandering Fortunes is up!

Chapter 9: No Hobo features the first kind clerpson our friends encounter in New Zhopolis. At least, let’s hope he turns out to be friendly–it’s hard to trust anyone in a big city like this. At the bottom of the city, though, depressed and alone, it seems he may be their way to make it in the city. Or at least live in it. Also features the sudden appearance of another character, a strange-looking one whose appearance raises even more questions than Top’s look does. Well, those questions will keep coming next chapter, so whatever.

I don’t think I’ve mentioned this yet, but I got some information from my editor and soon it will finally be time to charge full steam ahead on finishing Darmenzi! Yes, that’s still a thing that’s going to happen! Kind of crazy to think it’s been nine months since its last chapter was posted on here, but it’s been edited to be way better and I hope I can get this out before the year’s end! (If not, I may very well shoot for two years to the day after the second edition of Slubes released.) I’ve never been strong on the advertising front, but I hope to change that. oh no

And remember, I have a Patreon where you can read these new chapters half a month early. Chapter 10 will come in mid-September. Plus, you can get a free ebook copy of Darmenzi a month before the final release!

oh and you can make a word mandatory to appear on my website, more on that later

Death of Time: Schedule Changes

My time is dying.

I return to the day job next week.

There’s a lot of stuff I’ve been regularly doing on my to-do list that I won’t have time to do anymore. Most of it will go to a vastly reduced time schedule. Aside from less social media than usual (which isn’t much to begin with), the Cloudy Cuckoo Cosmos Twitter will be placed on hold until further notice.

I will continue to upload new chapters and profiles on the same monthly basis, along with early access to them on my Patreon, which will also continue to have weekly updates for patrons, everyone please go and boost my monthly revenue from that to $800 and I won’t have to go back to this job I hate.

But yeah, I’m basically going to spend all my free time working on chapters. Which sucks because whoops Sonic Mania comes out the day after I go back. ahhhh.

The thing that will really see a drop in frequency is the Pokecomic. I’ve had a pretty steady weekly update on that. The last guaranteed Saturday update will be tomorrow. After that it might switch to a bi-weekly–er, that is, a new comic every two weeks. No guarantees on that, though.

I’m still looking for a better job though and I did apply to one I’d really like because it involves data entry which I’m good at and it’s part-time at only 20 hours a week so I’d definitely still have time to work on my many ridiculous projects. We’ll see how things go! Maybe we’ll all be dead before the year’s over and it won’t matter.

Yooka-Laylee is here (and updates are near!)

Hey! I got a game in the mail yesterday! It’s Yooka-Laylee! I made a video.

I will have many more videos over the next week with more detailed thoughts on my impressions of the game. I went on a bit on Twitter about my thoughts regarding setting it up and I think a bit about the actual rollout of the game to Kickstarter backers, or, I might have only said that on Kickstarter itself.

Unrelated, I was thinking recently I don’t post here often enough. I often say that. Not here, though. I don’t post here often enough to say that here often enough. But if I keep saying I don’t post here often enough then maybe I will have said it here often.

I realized I say quite a bit on Twitter and sometimes have updates there. However, not everyone has Twitter. I do not blame those who don’t. I want to put notable or important updates on my website more, but I realized posting on here is just a hassle compared to Twitter. I have to go through several pages, oh my goodness, but mostly it’s just that WordPress is slow. For some reason it loads and moves slow and slows down my browser. I don’t know what it is.

Anyway I’m going to post simple updates here more often, such as each individual Pokemon comic instead of 10 at once (Next one coming tomorrow!). Nnnnot the YL videos, though. That’s a bit much. If you’re interested I plan to just have a new video once a day in a normal week (and some extra ones this weekend) until I run out of videos to post. I also might try to make posts in here when I sometimes run the risk of going on for a bit on Twitter. I need to make this place look alive, after all. It’s way more important than Twitter. Twitter’s just dumb jokes. This is writing.

Oh speaking of updates I’ll also have a new profile tomorrow or Sunday. I’ll be busy tomorrow with birthday shenaginags (oh yeah today’s my birthday) and Sunday I’ll probably go visit relatives but I’m sure I’ll get it up one of those days.

Wandering Fortunes Chapter 4, Off the Walls

Chapter 4 of Wandering Fortunes is here, a little late. Now that Top lives with Alden and his family, it’s time for them to adjust. Or maybe not. Aside from more Top silliness we get to see the inside of Orville’s shack and get to know Alden’s family a bit more. Plus this features the first of a few scenes featuring a huge amount of food!

As always there is Patreon, funds from which would help me not kill myself trying to get everything done ASAP so I’ll complete everything before I have to go back to a dayjob I want to kill. Also I need to update that a bit, I wanted to make some changes. Thanks for reminding me, me. Let me add that to the to-do list. SPEAKING OF WHICH:

EVERYTHING AFTER THIS IS UPDATE ON ME

Profile on scalagos

The page on scalagos is now available. Read about how they’re found on two different planets for some reason that nobody knows, but lots of crazy crackpot theories have been put forth! Yay! Scalagos are the species of the protagonist of Wandering Fortunes, Alden. Scalagos aren’t that important on Zhop, kind of like Numer and the slubes in the first two books, but unlike slubes scalagos are very important on another planet, Derantu. More on that later. Much later.

Updates on other things: Still waiting on stuff regarding Darmenzi‘s completion and the cover for Wandering Fortunes. They’ll come! Don’t worry about that. I’ve also been really busy doing all sorts of stuff and I’m like a week behind so, um. Also, speaking of Wandering Fortunes, I’m about to post chapter 4 for $3+ patrons over at Patreon. Take a look if you’re interested!

Character Profile for Alden

The character profile for Alden is now available to read. He’s basically the protagonist of Wandering Fortunes, being the focus character in pretty much twice as many chapters as the other main characters. He’s also a bookworm. Yaaay. This means is is guaranteed relatable because you are also reading at the same time. This is how relatability works right. Relatable and other related words are actual words right.

In other CCC news, I’ve spent the last week working hard on Darmenzi and I’m only 60% through editing from the editor’s notes. Still I should finish in a few days and then spend a week reading through it for a final scan and if things go according to plan this book will be released in April or May so the Nottle Crystal series is almost complete in final book form yaaay! FINALLY, THE THINGS THAT HAPPENED IN THE CHAPTERS I POSTED OVER THE LAST COUPLE YEARS WILL HAPPEN FOR REAL. For a certain definition of “real”.

Also, don’t forget my Patreon, where $3+ patrons this very day get to read chapter 3 of Wandering Fortunes. Everyone else has to wait a couple more weeks.

Finally, I have CCCalling cards now. This is not really something of interest for the internet but LOOK AT THEM

Top Character Profile and Patreon Video

The character profile for Top is now available to read. A bit of this information is that which is pertinent later, but most of it is general or made clear in the first chapter. Top has kind of a weird relationship to me–Numer and the other slubes were created before Top, but I wrote stories with Top a lot more in the latter half of the previous decade, so I have some attachment to the little oddball.

There is also a new Patreon intro video for my Patreon page! Take a look, IT HAS ME HUMMING A LOT:

As it turns out, starting today $3+ patrons can read chapter 2 of Wandering Fortunes before anyone else.

One more thing to make note: I’ve gotten Darmenzi back from the editor! It’s time to pull that open and get to work on finishing this second book. I’ll keep you posted on the updates.
